Full-immersion Spanish
Unlike other schools where language is relegated to a class session per day or private instruction, ISSA provides a full immersion Spanish school experience. Students meet, greet, eat, and participate in all activities in Spanish, receiving continuous input appropriate to their age and level of understanding.
Comprehensible input
Our teachers communicate understandably, using gestures, visuals, repetition, and speaking slowly. These techniques are applied to all lessons, such as a math lesson or a story, enabling students to acquire Spanish as they learn other content. ISSA students become proficient in Spanish at an age-appropriate level.
Well-rounded curriculum
Our holistic program exposes children to a broad range of subjects:
- Languages
- Mathematics
- Physical, social and personal education
- Arts
- Exploring the world
English language arts, including phonics, are introduced in preschool. Parents can choose a third language for their children offered weekly. Choices are French, Chinese, or Russian.
Our preschool curriculum is aligned with Texas state education standards and exceeds requirements in language arts and mathematics. Courses are enhanced with global best practices, such as Singapore Math.
The Spanish program includes stories and songs from the Spanish-speaking world as part of its language arts instruction. We also teach developmentally appropriate history and geography in the Spanish–speaking world.
In addition to full immersion preschool education, we foster an environment that promotes diversity, inclusion, respect for others, collaboration and teamwork, and kindness.

Opportunities outside the classroom
ISSA collaborates with San Antonio parks and museums, including The DoSeum, the McNay Art Museum, and San Antonio Botanical Garden—developing signature programs, events and after-school activities.

Flexibility with convenience
With licensed childcare and educational offerings in one place, ISSA programs are convenient and cost effective. Parents do not have to organize separate language classes in addition to preschool or daycare. Full-day and half-day options simplify scheduling for busy families.
Our schedule
Full Day: 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM
Half Day: 8:00 AM – 11:45 AM
Before School: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM
After School: 3:15 PM – 5:00 PM
